Code of Conduct

As a company active on the global market, we take it as our responsibility to comply with applicable legislation, international standards of human rights and regulations in the countries in which we operate and to take care of environmental protection.


This Code of Conduct articulates Heimann Sensor’s expectations of the conduct of the company’s management and employees.


Moreover, Heimann Sensor GmbH expects from all suppliers and subcontractors to comply with the ethical business standards and values set out in this Code including business ethics, human rights, employee relations, health and safety related to sustainable and responsible business practices.

HUMAN RIGHTS

1    Equal Treatment and Non-Discrimination

Heimann Sensor GmbH and its employees are obliged to refrain from any discrimination on the grounds of race, ethnic origin, gender, religion or ideology, disability, age or sexual identity.


There shall be no harsh and inhumane treatment including any sexual harassment, sexual abuse, corporal punishment, mental or physical coercion or verbal abuse of workers. Nor is there to be the threat of any such treatment.

2    Freely Chosen Employment

Forced, bonded or indentured labor or involuntary prison labor is not to be used. All work must be voluntary, and workers should be free to leave upon reasonable notice. Workers shall not be required to hand over government-issued identification, passports or work permits as a condition of employment.

  Conditions of Employment

Compensation paid to workers shall comply with all applicable wage laws, including those relating to mini­mum wages, overtime hours and legally mandated benefits. The compensation should meet basic needs and provide some discretionary income. We respect the applicable local working laws regarding working hours.


Heimann Sensor GmbH confirms compliance with the regulations in accordance with the Act of the General Minimum Wage (MiLoG) in the currently valid version. This applies to our company as well as to suppliers and other third parties with whom we have a business relationship.

4    Child and Forced Labor

We reject all forms of forced labor. This includes forced prison labor, bonded labor and all other forms of forced labor.


Child labor is forbidden in any stage of manufacturing. Domestic standards are to be adhered to regarding child protection and the employment of juveniles. The use of legitimate workplace apprenticeship programs, which comply with all laws and regulations, is supported.

5    Human Trafficking

Heimann Sensor and its business partners will not engage, directly or indirectly, in human trafficking. We prohibit human trafficking abuses.

BUSINESS ETHICS

6    Corruption and Bribery

Every form of corruption, bribery, embezzlement and fraud is forbidden. Any offering or receiving of gifts, gratuities, free trips, honoraria, personal property, that is considered excessive should be refused. 

7    Ethical Behavior

Heimann Sensor GmbH is committed to fair trading with a high standard of integrity and business ethics.


Heimann Sensor and its suppliers will avoid conflicts of interest and operate honestly and ethically throughout the supply chain and in accordance with applicable law, including those laws pertaining to anti-competitive business practices, respect for company and personal data, export controls and economic sanctions.

8    Intellectual Property Rights

Intellectual property rights have to be protected. The transfer of technology or know-how shall be done in a manner to protect intellectual property rights and safeguard confidential customer information.

9    Responsible Minerals Sourcing

We are committed to working toward avoiding the use, within our supply chain, of minerals from conflict affected and high-risk areas which are affected by the risks defined in the United States Dodd-Frank Wall Street Consumer Protection Act, Section 1502 (Dodd-Frank Act), as well as the Regulation (EU) 2017 / 821 of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU Regulation). Suppliers are required to undertake adequate supply chain due diligence to ensure that “conflict minerals” are being sourced from mines and smelters outside Conflict Regions.

HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT

10    Health and Safety

We provide a safe and healthy working environment and take adequate steps to prevent incidents and injuries in the workplace. Potential emergency situations and events shall be identified and assessed, and their impact minimized. This is done by implementing emergency plans and response procedures, including emergency reporting, employee notification and evacuation procedures, worker training and drills, appropriate fire detection and extinguishing equipment, adequate and exit facilities.

11    Environment

We ensure that our new developed products and services will fulfill the RoHS and REACH restrictions in such a way which minimizes any negative impacts on the local environment and climate. Our employees bear responsibility for conserving natural resources and help to protect the environment and climate through their individual behavior.


We also encourage our business partners to increase efficiency throughout the companies and take measures to reduce their carbon footprint, energy use, water use, wastes, and other emissions.
