Laser Beam Profiler

With the development of high-resolution thermopile arrays, we created a low-cost alternative to the sophisticated and high-priced laser beam profiler systems. For example, an array with 80x64 pixels and 90 µm pixel pitch is equipped with a transparent planar filter which, depending on the wavelength of the laser, can be made of CaF2, BaF2 or another suitable optical material (see figure below). 

The range even extends to THz lasers with HRFZ-Si as a filter. This array allows laser beams of up to 5.7 mm diameter to be easily recorded. By a simple offset and sensitivity "calibration" a wide intensity range of the laser beam profile can be covered. By using neutral density filters, the intensity range can be further extended.


In addition to the 80x64 model with a pixel pitch of 90 µm, we also offer a beam profiler with a resolution of 160x120 pixels and a finer pixel pitch of 45 µm.


With our optional beam profile analysis software, the intensity distribution and the profile can be immediately displayed, exported and saved in different formats for subsequent evaluation.
